Are you aware of fake medicines?
According to World Health Organisation (WHO), counterfeit drugs constitute 10% of the global drug market, rising to 25% in least developed countries.
Global sale of counterfeit drugs could be worth US$225 bil in 2010, an increase of over 90% from 2005.
Do we face such issue in Malaysia?
The issue is not commonly debated and discussed here.
The problem of fake drugs is not limited to just conventional trademark infringements.
It can be traced also to the adulteration of patented drugs by the addition of traditional and herbal additives.
This affects health in the long run.
Until something more positive is done by the authority, take care with the drugs you are taking.
It could just be fake medicine.
