Two health talks organised by Maha Bodi Society were held in the evening in Tawau (Sabah) on 10 and 11 May 2010. This was done in conjuction to my visit to Tawau to attend a national conference on agrobiodiversity.
I am grateful for the society for organising such talks entitled “Living healthily without medicine” and “Cancer: prevention & treatment”. The talks in Mandarin were well received by the public as about 50% of the participants were non-members.
It was an enriching interaction for me and the participants. We exchanged views on different types of treatment for various diseases.
One issue arising from the talk is the difficulty in obtaining organic vegetables.
I advised them to frow their own vegetables. This was what my family did in 1996 when there was hardly any organic shop in Malaysia.
Those attending the talks were also keen to have my health book in the Chinese language. In fact, they requested me to send 70 copies of the books once the second edition is ready.
Looks like I have to spend some time preparing the health book in Chinese soonest.
One of the attendees, Mr Liu Sin, the Executive Director of QL Plantation Sdn Bhd, was kind to give me some edible natural sea weed by personally sending it to the hotel I was staying. That touched my heart.
