The below news was published in page N17 of The Star 28 March 2011.
KUALA LUMPUR: About 15% of 480 stroke patients last year were below the age of 50, said University Malaya Medical Centre director Prof Datuk Dr Ikram Shah Ismail.
“This means that young people are not spared if they do not adopt a healthy lifestyle.”
This phenomenon is worrying because stroke can strike suddenly and affect the quality of life for patients,” he said at a lunch held for over 150 young stroke patients here yesterday.
Dr Ikram Shah said peer support group events were vital to lift the spirits of stroke patients.
My response to the above: It is better if the media could carry more news on what causes stroke and how a change to healthy lifestyle can reduce the risk of having stroke.

Better start to adopt a healthy lifestyle since young before it is too late.
