The Ministry of Health Malaysia is making this bold and wise decision in mid-April 2011.
The sale of junk food at school canteens is now reduced and controlled.
The problem of obesity among students is worrying. Reduction in junk food consumption may help to reduce obesity among students.
For long term solution to obesity, raising awareness is most important.
Awareness begins at home, not at school.
If the parents are aware of junk food, it is easier for children to reduce its consumption.
Awareness is the first step in rejecting and reducing junk food.
If there is no demand, the supply will dwindle.
