In Singapore, the term used is “sexts”, i.e. sexually explicit text messages that may include naked photographs of the sender.
There is increasing prevalence of “sexting” among youth.
I understand the ‘virus’ has spread to Malaysia and other neighbouring countries.
Some youths are attracted to this new ‘culture’ and started to send naked photographs.
Why do Asian youths easily engage in this new way of interaction.
Simply, they themselves do not have a defence mechanism.
The defence mechanism lies with family education.
If parents educate their children on sex education, they would not fall prey.
The consequence could bring lots of damage.
One impact is youths engaged in immoral activities affecting their physical health in the long run.
The second impact is immediate emotional damage when naked photos are passed around.
Dear parents, take care of our children.
Educate them to protect themselves.
