I have been staying near Selayang Jaya since 1995.
In the last 16 years, it is observed that the number of stroke patients has increased.
One can easily identify them walking along the road, at the morning market or even on wheel chairs. Even along the same row of houses at my residence, there is one stroke patient.
To avoid becoming a stroke patient, let’s learn something about the symptoms of stroke.
Confusion or trouble speaking and understanding.
Paralysis or numbness on one side of the body.
Trouble with seeing in one or both eyes.
Difficulty in swallowing.
Difficulty in walking, loss of coordination and balance.
Change in alertness, such as feeling drowsy or becoming unconscious.
A sudden severe headache, which may be accompanied by vomiting, dizziness or altered consciousness, may be a sign that you are having a stroke.
Do remember that those with high blood pressure have higher risk of stroke.
